The Vienna Alps in Lower Austria

The Schneeberg forms part of the Vienna Alps in Lower Austria. The Vienna Alps have a long tradition as a stimulating hiking destination. Where once poets and philosophers found inspiration today visitors enjoy the freedom of nature and awe-inspiring views.

South of Vienna the Vienna Alps fan out, rises at Bucklige Welt from the basin of Wiener Neustadt, climbs up to Semmering over the high Alpine meadows of the Wechsel (called Schwaigen), at Rax and Schneeberg it reaches its highest point and descends over the Hohe Wand in the form of an arch back down to Wiener Neustadt.

In 19 stages, in total 300 km long, the range of the Vienna Alps can be explored on a continuous trail. Impressive views are guaranteed.
